Social Distortion Gets Cooking

I was listening to Social D's "Live at the Roxy" in the car the other night, and perhaps inspired by Meaghan's post at http://bloginthroat.blogspot.com/ re: City of Compton vs. City of Gumption, I thought it would be cool if they redid the song "The Creeps" which has the refrane "I just want to give you the creeps/the creeps/the creeps/I just want to give you the creeps" with "crepes" instead of "creeps."

Pool Rules

Those in charge of my building put up some new rules for the pool.

You may not go in the pool for two weeks after having diarrea.

Seriously.

I have no idea how they are going to enforce this.

My wife and I went on Amazon.com to find a Star Wars toy for one of our nephew's birthdays. While we settled on a Darth Vader slip and slide, I thought this review was pretty convincing for the Darth Vader Hover disc:

Things I learned about Italy

I recently got back from spending more than a week touring Italy, Greece and the French Riviera. It was my second trip to Europe, and first in about 20 years. Here are some things I learned:

-- In Italy, pasta is often cooked part way, and then tossed in the pan with the sauce and some vegetable broth. Very tasty! I had the best pesto I've ever had there.

-- A "bar" in the U.S. generally is place where people drink booze and maybe eat too. And pick up chicks. Over there, a bar is a place where people can get a variety of drinks, including beer, but mainly stick to coffee.

-- Italian is way easier to speak than Greek. I know understand the phrase "It's all Greek to me" and the variations on it...Even just a few simple words in Greek felt impossible.

Oh, here's my latest posting on the Boston Herald forum as KevinMilarFan...nobody seems to appreciate the humor.

ok i made a kevin millar story before but it got erased and i don't know what happened to it so i'm making another one here and i hiope you like it ok!!?!

KEVIN MILLAR SAVES THE WORLD

So Kevin Millar was hanging out in the club hous one day and George W. Bush called him and was like "Kevin Millar there's a problem and the world is going to end because there's this huge astroid coming straight at the Earth!!! Can you save us?"

And Kevin Millar was like "No problem man I can do it!!!!"

So Kevin Millar got intoo a rocket ship and he flew into space and he saw the astroid and it was like wicked huge and he broke his bat trying to smash it and then he broke like 20 other bats trying and it wouldn't work but he wasn't worried. And then he got back into the ship and went back to Fenway Park!!! Where he got Manny and David Ortiz and told them the problem and they went back into space and saw the atstriod but those guys were kind of scared of it so Kevin Millar was cheering them on and he was saying things like "Yeah Manny!!!! Yeah Big Papi!!!!" And Manny and David Ortiz smashed the asttroid and the world was safe!!!!!

And that's the end.

Oh i forgot that Bush was so happy that Kevin Millar saved the world that he gave him a gift certificate to KFC so Kevin Millar could have all the chicken and bisuits and stuff that he wants for the rest of his life.

These ones were made under my moniker of "stoahtwentyfoah" (get it, like the convenience store Store24 in Massachusetts), and feature a cameo by www.dantobindantobin.com
