One of the big problems with the Internet is that it forces some people or publications to feel like they need to update more regularly than they are capable of churning out worthwhile stuff.
The latest evidence is
this update from Rolling Stone, a site that has consumed a bit too much of my attention lately. I just find it mind boggling that someone could list a greatest hits collection from AC/DC as the never released album they'd most like to hear.
Come on! This isn't like the days before "Smile" came out on CD or Jimi Hendrix's estate released all his unreleased stuff on disc. You know what these songs sound like! In fact, if you write for a music magazine, and care at all about AC/DC, you probably own most of the albums. Those that you don't, well, haven't you heard the songs that would make it onto a greatest hits collection a brazillian times on classic rock radio anyway?
How do you imagine that wonderful day when AC/DC DOES release their greatest hits? Do you grab it from the rack, pay, and rush home, barely able to contain yourself as "Back in Black," "You Shook Me all Night Long," and "Highway to Hell" pump over your speakers?
